Amanda is a graduate of Surry Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. After graduation she went straight into emergency medicine where she worked until joining our staff in May 2010. Amanda and her husband Doug have two wonderful children, Jakob and Maggie. Her hobbies include reading, baseball and any outdoor activity, especially if it is spent with family and friends.

Amanda Roberts

Amanda has been an LPN since 2005, when she graduated from Surry Community College as class president. She has been a cardio nurse at The Heart and Vascular Center since 2008 and loves it. Amanda has previous experience working in geriatric care. She has a green Ninja 636 motorcycle that she rides in her free time with her boyfriend and friends.

Ashley Naranjo

Ashley started working at The Heart and Vascular Center in May of 2010. She has two boys, Ty and Evan. Ashley spends a lot of her time at the baseball field watching her son play ball. In her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Audrey Cain

Audrey joined The Heart and Vascular Center in March of 2010. She has previous experience in dialysis and patient care. Audrey is currently working toward getting her RN through Surry Community College. She spends her spare time with family and friends. Her son Kolbin is her pride and joy! Some of her hobbies are Four Wheeling, Boating, and anything outdoors!

Dawn Cassell

Dawn joined The Heart and Vascular Center in January of 2007. She is a state certified patient care technician. Dawn enjoys working with patients and has several years of experience, specializing in dialysis and cardiology. Dawn is married and has one son Michael who works as an assistant golf pro. Dawn enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Elizabeth Jones

Liz has been part of the practice since November of 2000. She started out as a lab technician and then transferred into the role of clinical research coordinator. In 2007 she completed her Associates Degree in nursing and is currently working on her Bachelors degree. She wears many hats from the Galax office manager to trial recruiting in all The Heart and Vascular Center offices. Liz and her husband Jason have two children, Isaac and Canaan. They enjoy church activities, playing baseball, and spending time with family.

Katie Johnson

Katie started working at The Heart and Vascular Center in April of 2010, after moving Clemmons, NC. She loves being with her family, friends, and her puppy, Levi. Katie also enjoys spending her free time outdoors. She is currently working towards her Bachelors degree in Nursing.

Lisa Cave

Lisa is experienced in Dialysis, Cardiology, Primary Care and also as an ECP technician. She has been with The Heart and Heart and Vascular Center since 2005. She graduated from Surry Community College as a CNA II. Lisa is married to Jimmy Cave, and they have three sons, Andrew, Matthew and little Andrew. Lisa enjoys life. In her spare time she loves to travel, ride four-wheelers, and go camping.

Shannon Alderman

Shannon started out as a patient coordinator at with The Heart and Vascular Center. In 2007 she received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Wytheville Community College, and switched her roles. As a Registered Nurse at The Heart and Vascular Center she supervises nuclear stress tests and daily patient care. Shannon is married and has one daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and scrapbooking.

Sharon Durham

Sharon joined The Heart and Vascular Center in November 2002. She received her Associates Degree as a Registered Nurse from Wytheville Community College. With several years of nursing experience, she has a diverse background in med surg, telemetry, ICU, cardiology and nuclear stress testing. She is also an ECP technician. Sharon is married to husband Mark, and has a daughter Marleigh, and a step daughter, Channing. She also has one granddaughter, Isabella. In her spare time she enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with family and pets.

Technologists

Carlyn Bishop

Carlyn graduated from Forsyth Technical Community College in May of 2009 with an Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Sonography. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in April of 2010, and currently works in our Galax and Mount Airy locations. Carlyn lives in Elkin, and in her free time, enjoys being out in the sun, reading, and spending time with her frinds.

Dawn Banten

Dawn is a registered cardiac sonographer graduating from the Ultrasound Diagnostic School in Tampa, Florida. She has several years of experience in the cardiology field, and began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in 2008. Dawn and her husband Rich have three beautiful children, Brianna and Ricky, and Lilly. Dawn enjoys horseback riding, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Jeannie Cave

Jeannie graduated from Surry Community College in 1997 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She worked at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC where she recieved on the job training for echocardiograms. Jeannie received her certification in adult echo in 2004. In her free time, Jeannie raises horses and cattle with her husband.

Jennifer Blevins

Jennifer graduated in May 2005 from Forsyth Technical Community College with an Associates Degree specializing in nuclear medicine technology. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center later that year in September of 2005. Jennifer enjoys talking with her patients and making them feel comfortable during their test. In her spare time she enjoys working with her American Bulldogs and competing in canine working events. She is an active member of the YMCA.

Robin Williams

Robin has been a sonographer since 1992. She started working at The Heart and Vascular Center in May 2010. She loves to travel, enjoys life, and adores her two daughters, Jensen and Jade.

Ron Inscore

Ron has been a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist with several years of experience in his field. He first began working with The Heart and Vascular Center in 1997. Ron has obtained an A.A.S. in Nuclear Medicine Technology as well as Electronics Engineering Technology. He is a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the North Carolina Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Ron is an accomplished musician and enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and playing the mandolin. He and his wife, Tonya make their home in Patrick County, VA.

Tracy Barker

Tracy graduated from Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute in May of 2004 with an associate degree in Cardiovascular Sonography. Tracy first started working with The Heart and Vascular Center later that year in 2004. She currently works in our Winston-Salem and Mt. Airy offices. She and her husband Robbie live in Union Grove with their three lovable Blue Heelers Dixie, Sassy, and Josie. Tracy loves to ride their RZR side by side and enjoys summer nights at the creek.

Alisha Marshall

Alisha graduated from Surry Community College with a degree in Medical Administration. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in 2007. She works in our Mount Airy office as a patient coordinator, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling medical records and referrals. Alisha is married and has two children.

April Holderfield

April came to The Heart and Vascular Center in 2007 with several years of experience in medical office and transcription. She graduated from Forsyth Technical Community College. She is married and has two sons Zack and Seth. She enjoys traveling and watching her sons play ball in her spare time.

Elma Taghizadeh

Elma joined The Heart and Vascular Center in January of 2010. She moved to North Carolina from Richmond, Virginia were she was a student at John Tyler CC. Elma plans to further her education, and loves to spend time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, reading, shopping and watching movies.

Lorrie Sechrist

Lorrie joined The Heart and Vascular Center in October of 2007. She works as the check-in clerk and patient coordinator in our Winston-Salem office. Lorrie is married with two children, a daughter and son. She and her husband also raise their nephew. She enjoys spending time with her family any chance she gets. Her most favorite past time is watching their daughter play softball.

Naomi Hughey

Naomi has worked in the medical field for many years. She been with The Heart and Vascular Center since 2001, working as a patient coordinator. Naomi is married to Thomas Hughey and has two daughters and five grandchildren. Her hobbies are crocheting and reading.

Pat Hayes

Pat is graduate of Surry Community College in Medical Administration. She has worked for The Heart and Vascular Center since 2000, in the front office as a patient coordinator. She is married to James Hayes, has a son Daniel, and two grandchildren Megan and Jordan. She enjoys fishing and working on their farm.

Suzanne Riggins

Suzanne has worked at the Heart and Vascular Center since 2000 as a patient coordinator. She is married to Calvin Riggins and has three children and five grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes are being with her family and reading.

Thelma Wise

Thelma has been with The Heart and Vascular Center since 2003, and has had the advantage of working in all of our offices. She currently works in our Stuart, VA and Mount Airy, NC offices. Although she is single, she has a wonderful boyfriend, Victor. She has one daughter Taylore, who is pursuing her RN degree. She also has two grandchildren, Sierra and Kason. Thelma enjoys the beach, horses, and spending time with her family.

Whitney Golding

Whitney graduated from Surry Community College in 2007 as a Certified Medical Assistant. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in later that year, in 2007. Whitney works in both our Mount Airy and Winston-Salem offices as office manager. She is married and has one son and one daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and riding four-wheelers.

Business Office Coordinators

Debbie Goins

Debbie has several years working in the medical field. She graduated from Surry Community College with an Associates Degree. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in 2006. Her duties include processing insurance payments, payroll and our accounts payable. Debbie enjoys reading, fitness walking and spending time with her family.

Melessa Hawks

Melessa has been with the business office of The Heart and Vascular Center since July of 2000. Her duties include coding the hospital charges and working with patient accounts. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Pat Todd

Pat has been working in our business office since 2001, re-filing insurance claims, working with patient accounts, and as our credentialing coordinator. Before moving to North Carolina, Pat's background included several years of experience as business office manager in nursing homes in Indiana and Missouri. Pat and her husband Mark have four children and seven grandchildren. She enjoys reading, being outside during the summer and yearly vacations with her family.

Stephanie Johnson

Stephanie works in our business office processing insurance denials. She began working at The Heart and Vascular Center in 2006. She is experienced in her field, and enjoys her job very much. She has a wonderful son, Colby. Stephanie enjoys going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with her son.

Administration

Aaron Jackson

Aaron has several years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He has an A.A.S in Information Systems with concentration on Network Administration. He is a multi-certified member of the Computing Technology Industry Association, as well as a certified network engineer. Aaron has worked with The Heart and Vascular Center since 2006 maintaining their advanced Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management systems. He enjoys spending time outside with his wife, Lori, and their three dogs.

Lesa Bowman

Lesa is the Operations Manager at The Heart and Vascular Center and is responsible for the running of the day to day operations for all of our offices. She is also a certified professional coder, and the HIPAA compliance and privacy officer. Lesa has been with The Heart and Vascular since February, 2000. She is married to husband, Tyrone and has two sons, Zack and Max. She enjoys boating with her family, shopping, collecting Longaberger baskets and playing with her two dogs, Doddles and Zoe.

Sheila Martin

Sheila is the Business Office Manager for the Heart and Vascular Center. The business office oversees the financial aspects of the practice including: accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resource duties, and physician credentialing. Sheila has many years of experience in the medical field, and has been with The Heart and Vascular Center since March of 2001. She holds Associate Degrees in Accounting Technology and Business Administration. She is also a Certified Advanced Coding Specialist with a concentration in Cardiology. Sheila likes spending time with her fiance, Terry, and her two children, Courtney and Corey.
